Ben Bowman recently stopped in to see everyone here at Hamrick School. He loves stopping in and showing off is truck. Ben graduated from Hamrick in March of 2011. In Mid April he started with Swift. In Late June of 2011, he was given his own truck. He has logged over 150,000 safe miles and has driven through 45 different states. Survey of carriers shows expectations to hire in 2013

Growth in the trucking industry can be seen in almost every part of the country. One snapshot of trucking’s growth can be found in a survey conducted in Texas where about 80 percent of commercial truck carriers said they expect to invest in safety training and personnel in 2013, a significant increase from 37 percent last year. Younger drivers sought after by truck carriers

Drivers of all ages are wanted by commercial truck carriers across the country, but trucking firms are especially interested in younger drivers to help meet the demand that is being caused by thousands of current drivers entering retirement.
