Guest Speaker Don Miller from Railroad Traffic Control

On Friday, October 11, Don Miller from Railroad Traffic Control was a guest speaker in the classroom and talked about railroad crossing safety. He explained how crossings are activated and talked about the timing of tracks. He also showed photos of actual crossings in the area, and explained what to lookout for.

Railroad Traffic Control is a national company that engineers, constructs, installs, and maintains highway crossing signal systems. In Ohio they service 16 small railroads from Toledo to new Castle, PA. Don is the supervisor for the Ohio area. He is a former railroad engineer with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Students enjoyed his presentation. Thanks, Don!
