Department: City of Westlake Service Department
Pay Rate: $23.99 per hour
Schedule: Full-time day and night time shifts, weekends included. Emergency overtime is mandatory.

- Assist with the development of short and long-range plans, adjusts errors and complaints
- Follow and adhere to City policies, regulations, safety and health standards
- Maintain harmony by working collaboratively with fellow co-workers to resolve issues and/or
problems - Make suggestions on how to improve work methods to accomplish assigned work
- Assures that tools and equipment are available, properly maintained and in good working condition
- Maintains City buildings and grounds including streets, sewers, and parks
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Possess a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver License Class B with tanker and air brake
endorsement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience in repair and maintenance work for municipal operations or in
construction
Tools and Equipment Used:
Motorized vehicles & equipment, including medium or heavy-duty dump, pickup & utility trucks, hand &
vibratory tampers, saws, pumps, compressors, sanders, generators, common hand & power tools, shovels,
rakes, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radios, leaf machines, turf maintenance, phone & basic
computer
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job
- Walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, use
legs and arms - Occasionally required to climb or balance; bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently must lift and/or move 50 pounds or more
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the
ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. Frequently works in high, precarious places, and is frequently exposed to wet, dry, hot, cold and humid conditions as well as fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations. The noise level is usually loud.
